Pride and Prejudice

5 Things I Understand

1) The Bennet family has five unmarried girls and their parents seem very eager to get them married.

2) The Bennet familey hears of a young man named Charles Bingley and how he has just bought a place called Netherfield Park. He seems like a wealthy and repectable young man who would be wonderful for one of the Bennet family's daughters.

3) The Bennet sisters go to a ball in which Mr.Bingley attends. Mr. Bingley is very impressed by the Bennet's oldest daughter, Jane.

4) Mr.Bingley urges his friend Darcy to dance with the one of the Bennet daughters named Elizabeth. Darcy shows no interest and does not want to dance.

5) When the Bennet sisters return home after the ball, Jane and Elizabeth share their thoughts about the ball and Jane seems very pleased by Mr. Bingley but Elizabeth does not seem as pleased.

1) Don't the Bennet girls think that their mother is shallow minded since she wants to take hold of any rich man she can find for her daughters?

2) What was the most pleasing aspect of Mr. Bingley's personality that she found the most interesting?

3)Why is Darcy not as open and easy as Mr.Bingley?

4) What did Elizabeth think of Darcy when she first saw him and what did she like/dislike?
