1. Annika is the main character of this book and was left at a church by her mother at a very young age.

2. Annika was found by two character's named Sigrid and Ellie who took her in and cared for her as if she was their daughter.

3. Sigrid and Ellie are two friends that work for three professors called Professor Julius, Professor Emil and Professor Gertrude.

4. Annika does housework with Ellie and Sigrid for the Professors but she also attends school with all her friends.

5. Annika despises her emaciated neighbor called Loremarie who always makes fun of Annika.

6. Annika lives near the Spanish riding school and which to attend one of their shows some day.
